Nominate an Athlete for the All State Game

As an ASG Coach, I am actively seeking nominations of outstanding athletes to compete in the 2025 All State Game. Your nomination gives them the opportunity to showcase their skills, compete alongside the state’s best, and earn elite-level recognition. Honor their dedication by nominating them today and open the door to an unforgettable experience.

As we look ahead to the eagerly anticipated 2025 All State Game, an event that serves as a platform for elite youth athletes to showcase their talents, one coach stands poised to make a significant impact: Tahiamauani Malu. With a fervent passion for volleyball and a commitment to nurturing budding talent, Tahia’s appointment as an official coach for this prestigious event is a testament to her dedication and skill. But beyond her experience and accolades, it is her ability to inspire, challenge, and connect with young athletes that will resonate in ways that echo far beyond the game itself.

A Journey Rooted in Passion

Tahia’s journey in volleyball began on the sun-soaked beaches of Hawaii, where her love for the sport blossomed during her formative years. Growing up on the Big Island, she played school and beach volleyball, developing a profound appreciation for the game’s intricacies as well as its community spirit. Her dedication paid off when she transitioned to college volleyball, where she showcased her defensive skills at Dana College in Nebraska from 1999 to 2022.

This wealth of experience—as both a player and a coach—has shaped Tahia into a formidable figure in the volleyball community. Since embarking on her coaching career in 2022, she has become the Head Volleyball Coach at the Upper School for Girls at Annie Wright Schools in Tacoma, Washington. Here, she leads not just with technical expertise but with the genuine warmth and encouragement that all great coaches possess.

Building Foundations for Future Stars

In addition to her role at Annie Wright Schools, Tahia founded the MALU Volleyball Club, where she serves as Director and Head Coach. Her involvement spans all age groups, from U12 to U18, where she meticulously coaches each team and fosters a culture of growth, resilience, and collaboration. It’s within these settings that she inspires her athletes to exceed their perceived limits, transforming into not only better players but also better individuals.

At MALU, Tahia emphasizes the importance of challenging her players to unlock their full potential. She believes that growth comes from stepping outside of comfort zones, and she creates an environment where failure is not feared but rather embraced as a stepping stone to success. Her commitment goes beyond skills; she aims to instill values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance—qualities that will resonate with her athletes long after they leave the court.

A Vision for the All State Game

As a coach for the 2025 All State Game, Tahia envisions a unique opportunity to shape the experience of young athletes from diverse backgrounds, providing them with exposure and chances that transcend geographical limitations. The All State Game does not merely celebrate talent; it fosters connections among elite players from various towns and counties, uniting them in the spirit of healthy competition and mutual respect.

Tahia’s approach in this prestigious arena will undoubtedly reflect her core values: the belief that every accepted athlete, regardless of financial background, deserves a chance to shine. She is committed to ensuring that each player feels valued and supported, an ethos that resonates deeply with the mission of the All State Game to include the most talented athletes across the state while respecting individual circumstances.

Beyond the Court: Embracing Community

Away from the volleyball court, Tahia’s footprints extend into her role as a public servant, supporting families in Washington. This dual commitment to coaching and community service further enhances her understanding of empowerment and mentorship. As she steps onto the sidelines of the 2025 All State Game, she brings with her not just sporting expertise but a holistic perspective on the importance of nurturing the next generation both on and off the field.

Tahia Malu’s journey is more than a story of coaching accolades; it is a celebration of dedication, resilience, and the profound impact one individual can have on many lives. As she prepares to take on her role at the All State Game, we anticipate not just the games won or lost, but the stories of growth, connection, and inspiration that will emerge from under her guidance.

In a world where youth often seek role models, Tahia stands as a pillar of strength and a beacon of hope for young athletes ready to take on new challenges. The 2025 All State Game promises to be a memorable milestone not only in her career but also in the lives of the athletes she will guide, further proving that true coaching transcends the scoreboards—it touches hearts, shapes futures, and inspires greatness.
