In the world of sports, the impact of a great coach often reverberates far beyond the court or field. Such is the case with Elissa Morris, affectionately known as Coach EC, who is set to take the reins as the Head Coach for the Georgia Girls Volleyball Team 7 at the highly anticipated 2025 All State Game. A celebration of talent and determination, the All State Game provides advanced youth athletes a platform to showcase their skills while representing their communities and forging alliances with other elite players from across the state. For Coach EC, this role is not just an accolade; it is a calling—an opportunity to leave an indelible mark on the lives of aspiring athletes.

From Player to Coach: A Journey Rooted in Passion

Born and raised in Camden County, Georgia, Elissa’s love for volleyball sparked during her early years playing for her high school and local club teams. With each successful spike and serve, she fell deeper in love with the game. This passion carried through to her collegiate years, where she not only honed her skills but also developed a keen understanding of the game’s intricacies.

Transitioning from player to coach was a natural evolution for Elissa. With 13 years of diverse coaching experience across middle school, high school, club, beach, and collegiate levels, she has forged a remarkable path in the sport. As the Owner and Club Director of PEP Volleyball Club and the head coach at Camden Middle School, she has become a stalwart figure in the local volleyball community. Her influence extends beyond strategy and skills; she acts as a mentor, guiding young athletes to realize their potential both on and off the court.

A Commitment to Athlete Development

In her tenure, Elissa has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the development of her athletes. She has led numerous teams to state tournaments and has showcased her coaching acumen at national competitions, including two USAV national tournaments, one AAU national tournament, and one AVP national tournament. Her ability to elevate her athletes is reflected in her success in helping five of her high school players secure collegiate scholarships at various impressive levels, with even more poised to follow in their footsteps.

As Coach EC prepares to lead the Georgia Girls Volleyball Team 7 at the All State Game, she hopes to impart not just technical skills but also vital life lessons. Her mantra focuses on teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. “The game teaches you resilience,” she says. “It’s about overcoming obstacles, whether they’re on the court or in life. I want my athletes to understand that each challenge they face is an opportunity for growth.”

An Inspiring Role Model

Elissa’s journey is characterized by her inclusive approach to coaching. Understanding that talent exists in many forms, she is committed to ensuring that every athlete—regardless of financial circumstances—has the opportunity to participate in this prestigious event. Her belief in the core values of the All State Game aligns perfectly with her ethos: “Talent and dedication are what matter most,” she states, emphasizing her support for the game’s mission to foster and celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship.

Elissa’s dedication to the sport transcends the competitive landscape. She is passionate about building a robust volleyball culture in her local community, focusing on mentorship and education. Her recent foray into beach volleyball has not only diversified her coaching skill set but has also enabled her to inspire younger athletes with her own journey of growth and exploration in the sport.

Looking Ahead: Impacting Young Lives

As the 2025 All State Game approaches, Coach EC is not simply preparing her athletes for a match; she is preparing them for life. The opportunity to coach at this remarkable event allows her to connect deeply with youth from around the state, instilling in them the importance of hard work, camaraderie, and integrity.
